General Diagnostic Tests

Molecular Testing & Oncology

Our comprehensive and highly sensitive and specific range of tests can detect genetic alterations that drive tumor growth in all types of cancer. We are highly experienced in characterizing mechanisms of action of targeted therapies, particularly against epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), as well as other tyrosine kinase inhibitors. We perform:

  • Mutation analysis in tumor tissue and blood
  • Gene amplification and translocation testing
  • Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
  • Gene expression

Clinical Chemistry & Hormone Studies

The Clinical Chemistry is a state-of-the-art, fully automated section. It includes both STAT and routine testing in the areas of general chemistry, endocrinology and special chemistry. This system includes SELECTRA PRO M which is a fully-automated clinical chemistry analyzer which generates upto 180 photometric tests / hour; LIFOTRONIC ECL8000 which has Electro-chemiluminescence System which is highly accurate and sensitive for tests like D-Dimer, Thyroid profile, etc; ichroma II which is a compact and easy-to-use, fluorescence based POCT immunoassay analyzer and MINI VIDAS which has a compact automated immunoassay system based on the Enzyme Linked Fluorescent Assay (ELFA) principle.

Histopathology & Cytopathology

Histopathology and cytopathology are the study of diseases that are related to tissues and fluids, respectively. They can reach a diagnosis by examining a small piece of tissue from the skin, stomach, breast, bone and or any other organ. This is called a biopsy. We provide a diagnostic service for cancer; by handling the cells and tissues removed from suspicious ‘lumps and bumps’, to identify the nature of the abnormality and, if malignant, providing relevant information to the clinician about the type of cancer, its grade and, for some cancers, its responsiveness to certain treatments. We offer Fixation, Tissue processing, Embedding, Sectioning, Staining (manual, H&E, special stains and Immunohistochemistry). It is mandatory that any tissue removed from a human body is submitted for histopathological examination.

Hematology

The Hematology sections provides routine hematology assays which deliver a comprehensive report for a range of disorders. Tests includes “reflex” analysis of blood smears and cytopathologic examination of body fluids, directed blood screening for parasites and evaluation of coagulopathies and hypercoagulability. Complete blood counts (CBC) with differentials are performed with the Backman Coulter and Swelab Lumi. CoaData 504 instrument perform high volume but limited coagulation testing like PT, PTT and fibrinogen.

Real-Time PCR

PCR means polymerase chain reaction. It’s a test to detect genetic material from a specific organism, such as a virus. The test detects the presence of a virus if you have the virus at the time of the test. The test could also detect fragments of the virus even after you are no longer infected. We are offering both qualitative and quantitative analysis of Hepatitis B and C viruses.

General Diagnostic Tests

We are an industry leader in ensuring exceptional quality testing in our state-of-the-art facilities. Diagnostic tests are used to detect, confirm, or rule out the presence of a disease or medical condition. They can be used to screen for certain conditions in people who are at increased risk; to evaluate the effects of treatment; or to monitor disease progression.

  • Complete blood counts
  • Anticoagulant Therapy Monitoring
  • Blood Chemistry Analyses
  • Therapeutic drug monitoring

Naturopathic Tests

We will perform both standard and specialized naturopathic lab tests as part of the assessment process. Naturopathic doctors can order many of the same diagnostic tests as your family physician, such as blood work, stool, urine, and saliva testing. We can also perform an H Pylori Breath Test, Stool Ova and Parasite testing.

  • Gastrointestinal Testing
  • Laboratory Tests on Hormonal Levels
  • Cardiovascular Lab Tests
  • Toxins & Pollutant Testing

Genetics Tests

Genes are DNA instructions that we all inherit from our parents. Different “mistakes” in our genes, called mutations, can cause different diseases. Some of these diseases are rare, like cystic fibrosis or Huntington’s disease, others are common, like cancer. Genetic tests can be used to confirm the diagnosis or give you information about possible development of a disease.

  • PCR
  • DNA Sequencing
  • Cytogenetics (Karyotyping and FISH)
  • Microarrays

Cytology

Aside from tissue biopsy, cytology serves as an indispensable tool in screening and diagnosing cancer. In this technique, a cytological material is obtained from the patient, spread onto glass slides for microscopic examination, stained, screened for abnormalities and assessed prior to the issuance of a final report.

  • Gynaecological Cytology
  • Non-Gynaecological Cytology
  • Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology
  • BAL Differential Cell Count
